Distribution of "thousands from Zelenskyy" to be changed: will those who are not in Diia receive payments
Starting December 1, 2024, Ukrainians will be able to receive the promised UAH 1,000 through Ukrposhta branches, which will allow many citizens without access to Diia to use the ePidtrymka program. The funds can be spent on utilities, medicines, books, mobile communications, or support for the army.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy in a comment to a media outlet. The procedure will provide an opportunity to receive financial assistance without complicated registration or electronic access, it will be enough to have an identity document.
According to preliminary data, Ukrposhta will prepare all branches to serve applicants, which will greatly facilitate the payment process for socially vulnerable categories of the population. It is worth noting that the UAH 1000 payment is available for both adults and children. One of the parents will be able to apply for assistance for their children, receiving funds in their own name. This simplifies the process for families who are unable to apply separately for each child.
Launched at the initiative of the President of Ukraine, the new eGovernment program is designed to support citizens in the winter. Unlike previous payments made during the COVID-19 pandemic and the beginning of the full-scale invasion, this program will be available to a wider range of Ukrainians, regardless of access to digital platforms. The funds will be tax-free, allowing Ukrainians to make the most of them.
The program will run through the winter months, and citizens will be able to apply for payment from December 2024 to February 2025. In case of receiving money through Diia, the payment will be transferred to a special National Cashback card, which allows you to use the funds for
- paying for utilities – this will allow citizens to partially cover the cost of gas, electricity and other utilities;
- purchase of medicines – an important component for the elderly and those in need of medicines;
- books and cultural events – an opportunity to purchase Ukrainian literature or attend cultural events;
- mobile communication – payment for mobile operator services to maintain communication;
- support for Ukrainian producers – the funds can be used for Ukrainian-made goods, which will support the domestic economy;
- donations to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine – part of the money can be used to support the army, making the program even more patriotic.
The funds will be available for use until 2025, allowing citizens to independently allocate expenses depending on their needs.
