Although the Hyundai i20 N subcompact hatchback has been discontinued in Europe, the South Korean automaker continues to produce it for Australia. And recently, motorists were shown an updated version of it.

According to Car Scoops, the design of the car has not changed significantly, but a closer look reveals several innovations for the 2025 model year. In particular, we are talking about 18-inch forged alloy wheels, which now have a new design with a silver finish. It contrasts nicely with the Dynamic Tomato Red brake calipers.

The aggressive body kit has also undergone some changes, including a new mesh pattern for the grille. By all accounts, the "redesigned front bumper" is difficult to distinguish from the previous version, but the black Hyundai emblems and matte finish on the N badge have added their own touches to the car's appearance.

Experts noticed even fewer changes inside the cabin. In particular, they noted the LED interior lighting and the modified Hyundai emblems on the gearshift knob and steering wheel. In addition, the i20 N is now equipped with Hyundai Bluelink Connected Car services and software updates (OTAs) for the infotainment system.

In terms of mechanics, nothing has changed under the hood, as the hot hatchback has already been well equipped since its debut in 2020. The turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine produces 201 hp and 275 Nm of torque.

Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, assisted by a mechanical limited-slip differential. The i20 N also features N-specific suspension, brakes, and steering, as well as a sportier and louder exhaust.

The 2025 Hyundai i20 N will go on sale in Australia from November 2024 at a price of 35,500 Australian dollars (equivalent to approximately $24,300 at current exchange rates). This is A$500 (US$342) more than its predecessor. With the discontinuation of the Ford Fiesta ST, the only direct competitor to the i20 N is, by and large, the VW Polo GTI.
