Currently valued at €50 million: famous Spanish club may buy Shakhtar's midfielder in 2025

The titled team is considering strengthening its squad

The sports management of Atletico Madrid is actively working to strengthen the squad and is considering Ukrainian midfielder Heorhiy Sudakov as a potential transfer candidate for next season. According to ElGolDigital, the club may make such an offer in the summer of 2025.

In the last transfer window, Atletico spent significant sums to bring in star players such as Julian Alvarez and Conor Gallagher. However, the club's efforts do not seem to end there.

Heorhiy Sudakov: Shakhtar's star and future top league candidate

"At 22, Heorhiy Sudakov is the star of Shakhtar Donetsk, where he has not stopped growing. The Ukrainian footballer does not enjoy great international fame like other players, but he is a differential player when he is on the pitch," the authors of the article write.

The footballer himself stated that he dreams of trying his hand at top leagues such as La Liga or the Premier League.

In February 2023, Shakhtar extended Sudakov's contract until 2028, setting its value at €50 million. However, for a club with ambitions similar to Atletico's, this amount seems quite modest. Moreover, Sudakov's statements about his willingness to change leagues may play into the hands of the Madrid club.

Other contenders

In addition to Sudakov, Atletico are also actively monitoring other promising players, such as Alberto Moleiro of Las Palmas. However, given the specifics of Diego Simeone's team, the Ukrainian midfielder will better fit into their tactical model due to his versatility and potential.

The summer transfer window of 2024 promises to be a hot one for Atletico, who plan to continue building an ambitious new project. Sudakov could become an important element of this strategy if the club manages to agree with Shakhtar on his transfer.

It should be noted that the information about Sudakov's price tag appeared in June this year. Last winter, Shakhtar set a transfer record for Ukraine by selling Mykhailo Mudryk to Chelsea for €70 million (+30 million in bonuses).
