You don't have to spend money on products for cleaning different surfaces. Cleaning experts advise making a universal cleaner yourself. There are many advantages: it is a multipurpose, environmentally friendly, affordable, and harmless product that can be used to clean the kitchen, bathroom, and even sneakers.

Of all the cleaners you can make yourself, there is one that is particularly powerful. It can replace a creamy detergent or branded paste, and it can be safely used in almost the entire apartment. Experts have told us how to make an effective product.

Universal cleaner

An all-purpose cleaner consists of baking soda and dishwashing liquid. Just mix the ingredients until a paste-like consistency is formed.

If you need to clean a small surface, try a tablespoon of baking soda and a teaspoon of dishwashing liquid, but for larger areas, you may need a quarter to a full cup of baking soda. Then, depending on the surface, you'll need a microfiber cloth, sponge, or scrubbing brush.

How to clean the oven

Many oven cleaners contain strong chemicals or have a pungent odor, so baking soda and detergent are great options.

Apply the paste to the door and inside the appliance (avoiding the ventilation holes) and leave for two hours before using a scraper to remove the paste. Then wipe off any excess with a damp cloth.

How to clean the hob

The surface of the stove can be difficult to clean due to grease and bits of burnt food. If your stove is particularly dirty, try leaving the paste on for a while to soften the dirt.

How to clean the sink

Try using baking soda and dishwashing detergent to polish your sink. You can sprinkle baking soda on the sink and sprinkle dish detergent on top. Then take a brush, sponge, or steel wool and wipe off the residue. Rinse the sink with running water.

How to clean tile grout

You don't need harsh chemicals or store-bought stain and dirt removers, as baking soda and detergent will do the trick in no time.

For a better effect, you can add hydrogen peroxide. A typical ratio for this is one part detergent and one part baking soda to two parts hydrogen peroxide. Once you have a paste, apply it to the seams and brush it with a toothbrush.

White sneakers

You can restore white to your sneakers with baking soda and detergent paste mixed with a little hot water.

Rub the paste into the shoes and leave it until it dries, then wipe it off with a brush and rinse with clean water.
