"Can it fly?" Putin presents icon to Russian military aviation command after seven planes lost in a week: the web explodes with jokes
After losing military aircraft, Putin hopes for help from icon

In just one week, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 7 Russian military aircraft. After such numerous losses, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin presented the main command of the Russian Aerospace Forces with a copy of the icon "Savior of the Unmanufactured".

This was reported by the Russian media. Netizens immediately began to joke that it is unlikely that the Russian Orthodox Church will give a guarantee that the icon will be able to somehow help Russian aviation and save it from the strikes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Thus, over the past three days, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have shot down six Russian aircraft, including a Su-34 fighter-bomber and a Su-35 fighter jet. One more aircraft was shot down in the morning of February 21 - it was a Su-34 bomber. In total, since the beginning of the invasion in February 2022, according to the Ukrainian side, Moscow has already lost 336 aircraft.

People on the Internet ironically joke that after such significant losses in aviation, the Russian war criminal Putin hopes only for the help of icons.

"Can it fly?"; "Does the ROC guarantee that the icon will help? Or is it as usual?"; "Now everything will work out, that's why the planes were shot down, because there was no icon"; "An equal exchange, whatever you say"; "Like a dead man's poultice"; "The icon will protect and the planes will not be needed? I understood that right?" they wrote online.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on February 21, the Ukrainian military downed another enemy Su-34 fighter jet. This is the seventh enemy aircraft in a week that the Defense Forces have managed to land. A Su-35 was also in the crosshairs, but it was lucky - "it maneuvered and no longer poses a risk."

On February 19, Ukrainian defenders destroyed a Su-34 fighter-bomber and a Su-35S fighter jet of the Russian Aerospace Forces. Both enemy aircraft landed in the eastern part of Ukraine.
