Bukovel vs Dragobrat: comparing attractions and prices for 2025 season
In winter, the Carpathians beckon with their snow-capped peaks. That's why today we're talking about two of the most popular ski resorts that offer a wide range of entertainment for both children and adults. Read below to find out which one to choose for your vacation.
Bukovel
Located in the village of Polyanytsia in the Prutets River valley at an altitude of 920 meters above sea level. It is considered one of the largest ski resorts in Eastern Europe.
Entertainment
19 ski lifts were built on Bukovel Mountain. There are trails of various difficulty levels.
At the top of Chorna Kleva (1,276 m), 2 four-seater lifts and 1 rope tow were built. Tourists will find routes for both beginners and professionals. There is also a snowpark with various jumps for skiing or snowboarding.
For those who enjoy extreme types of entertainment, we recommend a ride on the Rodelbahn, an all-weather toboggan run. The total length of the slope reaches 1,500 meters. The price is ₴600 ($14) per person.
We recommend visiting Hutsul Land. The complex introduces visitors to the life and way of life of the highlanders, in particular, Hutsuls, Boikos, and Lemkos. There is a hut here where you can grind flour, make a carpet on a loom, and even take part in a theatrical wedding. By the way, the house is about 200 years old.
Also, bu sure to visit the zoo, where domestic, exotic, and wild birds and animals live in natural conditions.
And, of course, do not forget about the Skrynya art gallery with stylish photo zones, places to relax, and a movie club.
Travelers can also improve their health in the SPA centers, saunas or baths.
Prices
A daytime ski-pass (8:30-19:30) will cost ₴1,750 ($41) in high season. Night skiing (21:00-24:00) will cost ₴350 ($8). Equipment rental depends on the category:
A (highest quality) - ₴750 ($17)
B (2-3 years old) - ₴500 ($11)
C (3-5 years old) - ₴300 ($7)
There is also a free shuttle bus that runs around the complex, namely from parking lot #1 to the wake park.
Dragobrat
The highest ski resort in Ukraine. It is located in the Svydovets massif within the Rakhiv district of Zakarpattia region at an altitude of 1,300 to 1,700 meters above sea level. The location is famous for its wild and untouched nature and long winter season.
Entertainment
The total length of the trails reaches 10 kilometers. There are about 20 routes of different difficulty levels: green, black, and red, but there are not so many pistes for beginners.
Dragobrat is also considered a real mecca for freeride and snowboarding enthusiasts.
More than 12 lifts have been built here, including multi-lifts, drag, and chair ones.
Tourists can also go on a snowmobile tour, ride ATVs or snowmobiles.
After an active day, we recommend visiting the entertainment room, where travelers can play table tennis, billiards or air hockey.
Prices
As the ski lifts on Dragobrat are operated by different companies, there is no single ski-pass at the resort. Each complex sets its own rates and conditions.
Tourists can buy both unlimited daily and limited packages with 50 lifts for ₴2,400 ($56). Therefore, before buying tickets, carefully read the offers of different operators.
