Belarus uses aircraft to shoot down Russian Shahed for the first time – media
On the night of August 29, during another Russian attack on Ukraine, one of the Shaheds again flew into the territory of Belarus in the Yel district. This is the first time the country has used aviation to shoot down an attack drone.
This was reported by the Telegram channel Belarusian Hajun. The channel noted that after 03:30 when the UAV entered the airspace of Belarus, a fighter jet chased the offender for about 20 minutes.
At around 03:55, according to the channel, residents of the Yelei district of the Gomel region heard at least two explosions and saw a bright flash in the sky.
"This is probably the first recorded case when a fighter jet of the Belarusian Air Force attempted to destroy a real military target in the sky – a Russian Shahed-type kamikaze drone," the channel noted.

As a reminder, during the Russian drone attack on Ukraine on August 26, several Shahed-136s of Putin's army also passed through Belarusian airspace. Belarus sent its aviation into the sky.
The enemy drones, which were moving through the Chernihiv region of Ukraine, crossed the border in the Gomel region of Belarus. Previously, at least three Russian attack UAVs have shortened their routes in this way.

– On August 10, self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko accused Ukraine of violating the airspace of his country in the Kostyukovytsky district. "He said there were "about a dozen targets" – probably attack drones.
– The monitoring group Belarusian Hajun stated that on August 9, no drones were detected in the airspace of Belarus during flights of the Belarusian military aviation. There were also no missile launches from SU-30 fighter jets or MI-24 helicopters.
