Barcelona's 17-year-old footballer sets record of the century
Barcelona midfielder Lamin Yamal has become the first U-18 player to score the most goals in the 21st century. The 17-year-old scored two assists in the match of the 4th round of La Liga against Valladolid.
In the 24th minute, Yamal helped Robert Lewandowski to make it 2-0, and in the 72nd minute he assisted Rafinha (5-0). The final score of the match was 7-0.
Yamal has 14 effective actions in 42 matches of the Spanish championship: he scored 6 goals and made 8 assists. Thus, Lamin is ahead of Bojan Krkic (10 goals + 3 assists).
On August 20, 2023, Lamin was first included in the starting lineup of Barcelona for the Spanish championship game against Cadiz (2: 0), at the age of 16 years and 38 days he became the youngest La Liga player in the 21st century to start a match from the first minute.
Since then, he has played 55 matches for the main team in a blue and pomegranate shirt, scoring 8 goals and 13 assists in all tournaments.
