Argentine golfer shocks fans with the "most amazing shot of all time". Video
Argentine golfer Emiliano Grillo performed a fantastic hole-in-one (hitting the ball into the hole with the very first shot) in the second round of the Phoenix Open 2025 at TPC Scottsdale. His 142-meter shot on the par-3 16th hole (a hole designed to be completed in three shots) was made without even touching the turf.
"It was perfect, perfect number. Just a full shot with the pitching wedge," Grillo, 32, told Golf Channel. "At was a little bit of a delayed reaction because we don't see it really well from 150, whatever we had. Just the crowd went nuts and so did I."
"I've been playing here 10 years and I got to see a couple. Every time you're standing there, you get that thought of, 'What if this one goes in?' It was just perfect," added Grillo.
This is the second hole-in-one for the Argentine at the PGA Tour. His first was the 13th hole of Royal Portrush during The Open Championship 2019.
The spectators celebrated the hole-in-one by traditionally throwing cans and bottles around the short-cut grass area, which led to a delay in play as the referees cleaned up the debris and checked the condition of the course.
Netizens were unable to control their emotions, calling the shot the most amazing in history.
