Apple on Monday, September 9, unveiled the iPhone 16, in which artificial intelligence plays a big role. The new iOS 18.1 version will include AI features called Apple Intelligence.

A broadcast of the presentation is available on Apple's Youtube channel. Apple Intelligence with AI elements will help to correct text messages, create emoji based on handwriting, and search for photos and videos based on text queries.

The AI will also help the camera to recognize objects. When you point your phone at an object, the camera will tell you what it knows about it. For example, you can take a photo of a dog to find out what breed it is.

Or you can point the camera at an unfamiliar restaurant and the Visual Intelligence feature will show you what kind of place it is, what kind of menu it has, and other information.

There will also be the ability to record and transcribe phone calls, a new "Cleanup" tool in the Photos app that can quickly remove objects from a photo, and several others.

The company also mentioned a new, more personalized Siri, but didn't provide details. The network previously reported that the voice assistant will also be built on artificial intelligence, will be able to understand contexts, integrate with your apps and personal information to better understand your needs and more.

Apple Intelligence will be available in five countries in December 2024: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and South Africa.

Next year, new AI features will be available in China, France, Japan and Spain. In these countries, Apple Intelligence will work in Chinese, French, Japanese and Spanish.

Only models from iPhone 15 Pro and newer running iOS 18.1 or later will get Apple Intelligence support.
