Apple rolls out useful feature for Apple Watch in more than 150 countries: when the new model will go on sale
Apple has presented the watchOS 11 update. Thus, it became known about the introduction of an important health monitoring function - sleep apnea detection. The option will be available for Apple Watch Series 10, Apple Watch Series 9, and Apple Watch Ultra 2.
Users in more than 150 countries will be able to use the new feature. To check the availability in a particular region, you should visit the official Apple website. OBOZ.UA explains the essence of the new function.
Apple emphasizes that the countries where the option is already available on watchOS 11 include the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, etc. By the way, the feature is not yet available in several English-speaking countries, such as Australia and Canada, due to regulatory delays. The full list of countries can be found here. Unfortunately, Ukraine is not on the list yet.
Apple Watch's accelerometer will track small movements of the wrist that may indicate breathing disorders. If these abnormalities are observed for several nights in a row, there is a possibility that the person has sleep apnea. This is a serious condition in which breathing stops periodically during sleep, so you should pay special attention to the warning.
Users will be able to view data on sleep disturbances in the Health app on iPhone. The assessment results will be categorized as "elevated" or "not elevated".
The new option was tested in clinical trials and was designed to detect moderate to severe sleep apnea. Apple has received FDA approval to introduce this feature in the United States.
Apple Watch Series 10 will go on sale on September 20.
