Apple is preparing to release iOS 18.0.1: what's the rush and what changes are promised
After the recent release of the new version of the iPhone operating system iOS 18, Apple is allegedly internally testing the next OS update - iOS 18.0.1. It is expected to become available no later than the end of this week.
This is reported by the American publication MacRumors. Experts expect iOS 18.0.1 to be a small update focused on bug fixes.
Problems that can be solved with the update include touchscreen issues in the iPhone 16 series and some older models.
There's also an iMessage bug where the Apple Watch's common watch face can cause the app to crash repeatedly, and iPadOS 18 that locks up some iPad Pro devices with the M4 chip.
It is not yet known exactly when iOS 18.0.1 will be released, but MacRumors expects the update to be available no later than the end of the week (by October 6).
iOS 18.0.1 will be the predecessor to iOS 18.1, which Apple previously announced.
iOS 18.1, which is already available in beta, includes the first Apple Intelligence features for iPhone, including writing tools, message summarization, and more.
Apple Intelligence is available on the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and all iPhone 16 lineup.
As reported, the presentation of the iPhone 16 made an impression on both users and experts. Larger displays, artificial intelligence, new buttons, etc. make this device the most innovative on the market, but the iPhone 16 Pro users almost immediately began to report a problem with the touchscreen of the phone running on iOS 18 and iOS 18.1.
We also remind you that iPhone 16 prices may drop due to lower-than-expected demand. Experts predict that the price reduction in retail may occur in the next few weeks.
