Apple is preparing a presentation on February 19: what to expect
The presentation of updated Apple gadgets will take place even earlier than expected. On Wednesday, February 19, the tech giant will present the long-awaited novelties.
Apple CEO Tim Cook announced on social media that the company would present a new iPhone, MacBook Air, iPad, and Smart Home Hub. MacRumors publication provided details.
New iPhone SE or iPhone 16E
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman announced that the new iPhone SE will be released next week.
According to rumors, the new iPhone SE will have a bigger screen than the current model, a USB-C port, support for Apple Intelligence, etc.
Insiders also suggest that the gadget will be called iPhone 16E and will be the so-called "newest member" of the iPhone 16 family.
New MacBook Air and iPad
New models of MacBook Air, iPad Air, and entry-level iPads will soon be available. According to Gurman, many Apple stores are running out of MacBook Air and iPad Air stocks. It's unclear whether any of these devices will be announced next week, but Gurman suggests that they will definitely appear a little later.
New chips are expected to be introduced for these devices, including the M4 chip for the MacBook Air, the M3 chip for the iPad Air, and the A16 Bionic or A17 Pro for the entry-level iPad 11. No other significant changes were announced.
Smart Home Hub
The Smart Home Hub won't start mass production until the second half of 2025, but what if Apple surprises us with an early preview next week? Many brand-new Apple product categories have been previewed months before the actual launch, including the original iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, HomePod, and more.
Smart Home Hub is expected to resemble HomePod with a 6- or 7-inch screen, A18 chip, and support for Apple Intelligence. Gurman added that the device can be attached to a desktop base with a speaker or mounted on a wall.
Earlier, Gurman said that the home center will be "the most significant new product from Apple this year" as it represents "the company's first step towards a larger role in the smart home."
AirTag 2
AirTag 2 is the expected second generation of the AirTag device that helps you find lost items. Although Apple hasn't officially announced AirTag 2 yet, there are many rumors and speculations about its possible features and innovations.
It is expected that AirTag 2 will be equipped with an updated second-generation Ultra Wideband chip that will provide more accurate location tracking and extended range.
Gourmet is skeptical about AirTag 2 next week, predicting a mid-2025 release.
