Android vs iPhone: what useful features have not yet been implemented on Apple smartphones

In general, Android and iOS smartphones have roughly the same functionality, so it's a mistake to assume that you can get any significant advantage by buying an iPhone. Apple has become synonymous with elegant design, quality, and even luxury, but there are certain features that the company has not implemented.

Charging speed

In recent years, Apple has decided to focus on improving the autonomy of devices, but charging has remained at the same level. All iPhones, even the new 16 model, only support 25W of charging when using a compatible charger.

For example: OnePlus 12 offers 100W of wired charging, and Xiaomi 14 Ultra offers 90W. Of course, Apple can argue that it cares about battery life, but experts emphasize that it would be advisable to increase the charging speed.

Fingerprint scanner

Since 2017, when the iPhone X was released without a physical fingerprint sensor, Apple has not shown an alternative. The replacement was the Face ID feature. It's not about bringing back scanners – many Android devices use optical sensors, but there are innovations. For example, ultrasonic versions on Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, according to experts, offer better accuracy and speed. Apple has no plans to develop Face ID for under-display integration.

Stylus support

In 2015, the Apple Pencil stylus appeared on the market, offering high pressure and tilt sensitivity, but it is only compatible with the iPad. Users emphasize that it would make sense to make a stylus that would work with the iPhone, especially for top models, such as the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Display features

Apple has integrated 120Hz displays into the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. However, most other models still remain at 60 Hz. In practice, experts say, this means that the displays of the basic iPhone 16 variants will be less smooth even compared to budget phones, which is a bit disappointing given the price.
