All inclusive: budget vacation offers in Europe
Europe can also offer budget all-inclusive options. And we're not talking about the cheapest tourist destinations like Bulgaria or even Turkey.
A new study by Which Travel experts was aimed at finding inexpensive but interesting and comfortable vacation options. According to the study, choosing the right destination can give you an incredible experience without emptying your wallet with dubious service.
The cheapest vacation destinations
- Kalymnos, Greece
- Thassos, Greece
- Lefkada, Greece
- Costa Brava, Spain
- Venetian Riviera, Italy
- Amalfi Coast, Italy
- Skopelos, Greece
- Costa de la Luz, Spain
- Campania, Italy
- Malta.
You may be surprised to see the Amalfi Coast or Malta, for example, which are not usually synonymous with cheap vacations. The destinations in this rating offer, first of all, a huge selection of offers: from luxury hotels to ordinary self-catering apartments.
Experts also paid attention to the affordability of airfare and the quality and cost of meals outside of hotels.
On the island of Kalymnos in Greece, the average weekly stay costs 1000 euros in all-inclusive.
Thassos and Lefkada were the next cheapest Greek islands with prices at about the same level.
Spain's Costa Brava was outside the top three but became the cheapest vacation spot in the country. The picturesque stretch of coastline north of Barcelona offers an average cost of €1,100 for 7 days, although prices in different resort towns in the region vary quite a bit.
"Summer travel is traditionally expensive and demand is high again this year, but our latest price analysis shows that by being flexible with your destination, you can potentially save a lot of money," said Rory Boland, editor of Which Travel.
