Pidruchny speaks about the World Championships

The captain of the Ukrainian biathlon team, Dmytro Pidruchny, admitted that he was incredibly exhausted by the World Championships, which ended the day before in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic. The leader of the Blue and Yellows noted that the mass start, which closed the championship program with a sensational result, took away all his strength.

Pidruchnyi said this in an interview with the Suspilne Sport TV channel. The 32-year-old from Ternopil noted that the student spent a lot of physical energy in the relay, which deprived him of the opportunity to compete for high places in the mass start race, where the Ukrainian finished in fourth place.

"How much strength is left? Absolutely zero. I had little strength left. I felt very tired, it was hard to fight on the track. I felt a lack of training, which I missed. It's very difficult to endure this championship in full, especially in such weather conditions when the skis are hard to ride on the track. This is more of a power race. Plus, I could neither run nor shoot in the way I would have liked. I spent a lot of energy yesterday, too, because I wanted to run as well as possible for the team, and I succeeded in principle. But in the mass start it was already difficult," Pidruchnyi said.

It is worth noting that Estonian biathlete Johanna Talihärm supported our country with the words "Glory to Ukraine" after her team's historic World Cup relay race. The day before, Ukrainian biathlete Khrystyna Dmytrenko, who won the unofficial title of the most beautiful biathlete of our national team, took part in the mass start for the first time in her career.
