A thriller that could become the new Die Hard is coming to Netflix: what is known about Carry-On

Although Die Hard has always been described as an intense action movie, many people have come to associate it with Christmas. This year, Netflix will try to compete with it.

Just before the holiday, the platform will release the new action movie Carry-On with Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman. The teaser trailer has already been released on official Netflix channels. OBOZ.UA tells you what is known about the movie.

The novelty will be available on Netflix on December 13. The film tells the story of a young TSA agent named Ethan. He is preparing for a busy period in his work, as millions of Americans fly home for the holidays on Christmas Eve. And LAX airport in Los Angeles is one of the busiest hubs these days. Right in the middle of his workday, Ethan finds an earpiece through which an ominous stranger informs him that he must let a dangerous cargo on board one of the planes, otherwise his beloved girlfriend will die. The mysterious criminal and the airport worker start a game of who will outwit whom.

Egerton  (Kingsman franchise, Rocketman) plays Ethan. Bateman (Ozark and Arrested Development) plays the mysterious terrorist. Sofia Carson plays Ethan's beloved, who is in the clutches of the terrorist. The cast also includes Danielle Deadwyler, Theo Rossi, Dean Norris, Logan Marshall-Green and Josh Brenner.

It is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, the director of Black Adam and Jungle Cruise. The screenplay for the thriller was written by T.J. Fixman (Ratchet & Clank animated franchise) and Michael Green (Logan, Blade Runner 2049).
