A Russian tourist was detained in Turkey

An erratic Russian tourist was apprehended in the popular Turkish resort of Antalya. He had a meltdown in the middle of the street in front of a four-star hotel in the Güller Pinar Mahallesi district: he undressed, began screaming, and threw himself to the ground.

It was later revealed that the individual, a citizen of Russia, who had come to Turkey for a vacation, was under the influence of drugs. The incident's details were reported by the local newspaper Gazete Vatan.

According to reports, the man was incessantly shouting in Russian and English: "Water! Water!" Meanwhile, he removed some of his clothing and started hitting the asphalt.

Alarmed by the irrational behavior of the drug-intoxicated Russian, onlookers contacted the police. The police arrived at the scene but were unable to handle the agitated tourist on their own, so they called for backup from 15 more officers.

The Russian man continued to demand water. Observing signs of drug intoxication, the law enforcement officers offered him liquids. They poured approximately three liters of cold water into the Russian tourist and then poured more over him.

Following this, the citizen from the aggressor state once again threw himself to the ground and resisted when they attempted to place him in the police car.

Ultimately, the Russian tourist was taken to the hospital and then transported to the police station, where he was questioned by drug treatment officers.

Previously, Russian tourists created a disturbance as they were fined 200 euros (8,000 hryvnias) at a Turkish hotel. The owner alleged property damage, while the Russians argued that they were unfairly treated. Read more in our article.
