In Thailand, a Russian tourist kicked a woman 8 months pregnant

In Thailand, a Russian tourist named Elena Kupriyanova attacked the pregnant owner of a family-run cafe on the island of Pangan. The woman, eight months pregnant, was kicked in the groin by a citizen of the aggressor country, all because of a simple request to take off her shoes before entering the establishment.

Kupriyanova, 41, is now in the dock, facing deportation. This was reported by the Bangkok Post.

The victim filed a lawsuit against the inadequate tourist to prevent a similar incident from happening again.

Kupriyanova pleaded guilty, and found a ridiculous excuse for her shameful actions - she was allegedly menstruating, which caused her to have sudden mood swings. This, in the Russian woman's opinion, was supposed to justify her beating a pregnant woman for asking her to take off her shoes before entering a family cafe.

Of course, these arguments did not work on the judge. The tourist from Russia was fined 500 baht (530 hryvnias) and sentenced to a suspended 15-day prison sentence. However, now Kupriyanova also faces deportation from Thailand. The Russian woman emphasized that her Thai visa is valid until May 22, but after serving her sentence, the aggressive tourist's entry document is likely to be revoked.

The source emphasizes that this incident was the latest in a series of reports of bad behavior by tourists. Thailand's Interior Minister Anutin Charnwirakul responded to public concerns about the increasing number of such incidents by promising that foreigners who violate Thai laws will be held accountable.

According to the minister, the decision to cancel a visa is made on a case-by-case basis, and this does not mean that every foreigner who violates the law will be deported. According to statistics compiled by the Royal Thai Police from October last year to this month, 614 tourists were prosecuted for committing a crime in Thailand, and 98 of them were eventually deported.

As OBOZ.UA wrote earlier, Russians got into a racist scandal abroad. Residents of the city of Unawatuna in Sri Lanka, in the area unofficially called "Little Moscow", managed to offend all the indigenous people of the country with just one word.
