The moment was broadcast on TV.

German biathlete Johannes Kühn was seriously injured in a fall at the World Championships in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic. The 32-year-old native of Passau fell during a mass start on one of the slopes, bleeding to death.

After that, Kühn managed to finish on his own and fell to the snow, but the medics did not immediately notice his wound. It was only later that doctors ran up to the German and began to provide first aid.

"I fell on the last descent in the tunnel. I slipped and fell on my own foot. My rifle hit me somewhere in the head. I don't know exactly where and how it looks. But when I got up, my skis and glasses were covered in blood. My head hurts a lot," Kühn commented on the incident in an interview with Aftonbladet.

It should be noted that the fall did not significantly affect the German biathlete's final result. After the incident, Kühn lost only one position, finishing 14th overall.

The directors of the TV broadcast were able to find the moment of the fall, but the picture did not answer the question of how Johannes received such a bloody injury.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Ukraine was represented in this race by Anton Dudchenko and Dmytro Pidruchnyi, who failed to demonstrate a high result. They took 20th and 27th places, respectively.
