When Shanghai-based designer Guo Qingshan went on vacation, he accidentally spotted a "Puppy Mountain" near China's longest river, the Yangtze. The rock resembles the head of a dog that seems to have lain down on the shore to rest.
"Puppy Mountain became a sensation in China. Two weeks after the discovery, a tourist route was already laid to the amazing rock, CNN writes.
Guo Qingshan said that while looking through photos from a visit to his hometown of Yichang, in the central Chinese province of Hubei, he saw something he hadn't noticed before: a mountain in the shape of a dog's head lying by the Yangtze River.
"It was so magical and cute. I was so excited and happy when I found it," Guo said.
"The pose of the puppy looks like it is drinking water or looking at a fish. It also looks like it is quietly protecting the Yangtze River," the designer added.
"Not only Guo liked Puppy Mountain. His post on the Chinese social media app Xiaohongshu received 120,000 likes within 10 days. And on the Weibo media platform, it received millions of views.
Dog owners began posting photos of their pets under the post to see which one looked the most like the bark on the rock.
"Puppy Mountain" has become a popular vacation spot, and people began to go there to see this natural wonder with their own eyes.
