A new dollar rate in Ukrainian exchanges: how the cost of currency has changed overnight

 Ukrainian exchange offices changed the dollar exchange rate overnight. It was set at an average level of 37.9/37.98 (buy/sell), at noon on October 26, which is 3 kopecks more expensive to buy than in the evening of the previous day, but 1 kopeck cheaper to sell.

But there were no changes in banks. Here, the cash dollar exchange rate remained at the same level of UAH 37.55/38.1 (buy/sell).

In general, large institutions buy currency at UAH 37-37.6. In particular:

• FUIB - 37.6 UAH;
• Sens Bank, Oschadbank, Credit Agricole Bank - UAH 37.5;
• Ukreximbank - UAH 37.4;
• Ukrgasbank, UkrSibbank - UAH 37.3;
• PrivatBank - UAH 37.1;
• OTP Bank, Universal Bank - UAH 37.

The dollar is being sold at UAH 37.7-38.3. Thus:

• Credit Agricole Bank - UAH 38.3;
• Ukreximbank, FUIB, Ukrgasbank, Oschadbank - UAH 38.1;
• Universal Bank - UAH 38;
• Sense Bank, OTP Bank - UAH 37.9;
• Ukrsibbank - UAH 37.85;
• PrivatBank - UAH 37.7.

It should be understood that these prices may differ from the actual exchange rate in banks. They may charge additional fees.

The NBU set the official exchange rate at UAH 36.53 on October 26. This is 4 kopecks lower than on October 25.

What will be the exchange rate by the end of the week

The banking sector predicts that by October 29, the dollar is expected to be at UAH 37.5-38.5. The same forecast was made last week. Accordingly, there is no point in buying up foreign currency in the hope of selling it at a profit in the near future.

"By the end of the month, the situation on the foreign exchange market will be mirrored to the previous week - without any major exchange rate changes. It is expected that the exchange rate corridor will be in the range of 37.5-38.5 UAH/USD," Taras Lesovyi, head of the treasury department of Globus Bank, told OBOZ.UA.

As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, NBU Governor Andriy Pyshny, commenting on the abolition of the fixed exchange rate, stated that the hryvnia did not "fly into space". However, he admitted that exchange rate fluctuations could not be avoided. However, they will occur in both directions and will be very insignificant.
