On Thursday evening, November 16, a part of a five-story building collapsed in Astrakhan, Russia. According to preliminary information, the accident was caused by the foundation being washed away by sewage.
This was reported by Russian media. The incident occurred on Pryvokzalnaya Square.
It is noted that two entrances of a residential building collapsed at once.
"The preliminary cause of the collapse of part of the house in Astrakhan is the washing away of the foundation by sewage," Russian Telegram channels report.
According to the locals, a battery burst in one of the apartments today. Previously, this happened in the fourth entrance, after which the foundation of the five-story building was washed away. Earlier, residents reported that a crack had formed on the building.
An 84-year-old woman who lived in an apartment on the fifth floordied as a result of the accident. There are still people under the rubble. The Russian Emergencies Ministry is dealing with the aftermath.
At the same time, temporary accommodation centers have been organized in schools for the residents of the building.
