A fairy tale in the heart of Europe: a town in Croatia offers an affordable dream vacation

Yulia PoteriankoNews

Croatia has become increasingly popular among tourists in recent years, with the flow of visitors to the country growing regularly. However, it is still possible to spend a cozy and relaxing vacation here.

According to Mirror, those who go on vacation to Croatia should pay attention to the island of Brac, located in the Adriatic Sea between Split and the island of Hvar. Especially the town of Pučišća on its northern coast. This traditional town pleases with relatively low prices, and it is also called one of the most beautiful settlements in Europe.

The city is famous for its houses built of local marble. By the way, the stone quarried here was used to build the White House in the US capital of Washington, DC. The stone has long been an important part of the city's culture and history. There are several historical quarries on the island, some of which date back to Roman times.

Traditionally, the largest and richest houses in Puchyszcz were built on the waterfront. And the further you are from it, the smaller the buildings become. The island also has some amazing archaeological sites, including an altar to Jupiter and a Roman tombstone.

See what's available within the town. Some of the monuments were created in ancient times, and some are the creation of modern craftsmen who learn to work with stone here. For example, the Aquila Tower is one of the thirteen towers built to protect the city. Nowadays, its silhouette adorns the coat of arms of Puchyshcha.

Tourism experts advise to visit one of the seven forts built by hand by masons that have been preserved on the island. And in the city, you should definitely admire the beautiful harbor surrounded by steep hills. Its water is crystal clear, perfect for swimming and boating.

Another attraction is the Church of St. Jerome. It offers a fantastic view of the neighborhood and is a good place to admire the panoramic views of the city and the sea. Olive groves and other Mediterranean flora also grow on the island's hill, making it an ideal place for hiking.
