In the 1880s, there was a church and private houses on the site where the Livoberezhna metro station is now located. This historical area is called Mykilska Slobidka, and there was an entry where travelers could rest before crossing to Kyiv.

The old photo was posted in the community Spraga on Facebook. Nowadays, this location looks completely different.

"The future Livoberezhna metro station, 1880s," the post reads.

The published colorized photo shows how the area looked in those years. Back then, it was not part of Kyiv but belonged to the Chernihiv province.

Mykilska Slobidka is a historic area on the left bank of Kyiv. Located between the modern Yevhen Malaniuk and Kakhovska streets, the peak of the area's development occurred in the first half of the 20th century. It was the site of a Neolithic settlement of the Dnipro-Donetsk culture.

In the nineteenth century, there was an entry on the territory of the settlement where travelers in stagecoaches could rest before crossing to Kyiv. In the 1970s and 1980s, most of the Mykilska Sloboda was demolished (it stretched to the Rusanivskyi Canal), and the Livoberezhnyi residential area was built in its place.
