In Kyiv, the cable of a rappelling attraction across the Dnipro River broke. The girl who was flying on it fell into the river, and the search for her continues.

This was reported on Telegram by the Kyiv City State Administration. Witnesses to the incident suggest that the girl is likely dead. Rescuers from the State Emergency Service arrived at the scene. Special equipment was involved in the operation.

The State Emergency Service told OBOZ.UA that the cable had been removed. There is currently no information about the dead. Boats and boats have been launched, search and rescue operations are underway, and divers are working.

"The city appeals and will demand that law enforcement officers thoroughly investigate both the emergency itself and the activities of the company operating the attraction, which opened in 2021," the Kyiv City State Administration said.

The Kyiv Patrol Police reported that due to an accident on the amusement ride on Naberezhne Highway, traffic is hampered, so they urged Kyiv residents to take this into account when planning their routes.

The Kyiv Police reported that they received information about the accident at the ride around 14:00.

"Currently, the investigative team of the Pechersk and main police departments, officers of the police department in the Kyiv River Port, patrol police and the State Emergency Service are working at the scene. The search for the man is ongoing," the capital's law enforcement agencies said in a Telegram message.

As a reminder, on July 19, a 40-year-old woman drowned in a pond in Bucha, Kyiv region. Rescuers recovered her body around three in the afternoon. According to local public reports, the woman was unable to swim to the shore and sank to the bottom. The deceased is survived by three children.

The 18-year-old driver of the two-wheeler died at the scene of the accident from his injuries.
