"A bullet may be necessary": Ukrainian biathlon legend admits what annoys her most during the war
Tserbe speaks out about the war

The first Olympic champion in the history of independent Ukraine, Valentyna Tserbe, admitted that she is outraged by the indifference of her compatriots to the war and the defenders of our country. The former biathlete urged her elders to teach their children to respect the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Tserbe said this in an interview with Novoe Vremya. The winner of the 1994 Lillehammer Games noted that she constantly encounters unworthy behavior of Ukrainians, especially young people, who continue to live as if the war is not in their country.

"It hurts me to see indifferent citizens. Now people are more relaxed because they have stopped turning off the lights, and not only pharmacies and shops but also restaurants are open. I dream that all Ukrainian soldiers will return home alive. We will fight to the end. This is our only dream - one for everyone. We need to start with ourselves. Work, teach children so that they do not dishonor the memory of the military. There have been cases when young people were having a loud rest in the alley of fallen heroes. I repeat what I told young biathletes: "Do not miss, because this bullet may be needed..." - Tserbe said.
