On August 19, 71-year-old hiker Rich Moore and his faithful friend, a white Jack Russell Terrier dog, went hiking on Blackhead Peak, located in the San Juan Mountains in southwestern Colorado. Later it became known that the man was missing. Months of searching led to a disappointing result. Unfortunately, the worst expectations were realized - the tourist was found dead.
The body of the traveler was found by a local hunter. This was reported by the Daily Mail.
After the report of the found corpse, officers of the Archuleta County Sheriff's Office and the search and rescue service flew to the area to find the victim.

The road to the summit, where Rich Moore was found lifeless, is described as "rough, rocky and steep, with the last stretch being an unmaintained public footpath." A spokesperson for the search and rescue service noted that they had to use a helicopter to get to the spot because the cliff was "too steep."
The most impressive part of this story is the dog named Finney. The 14-year-old Jack Russell miraculously survived. Moreover, he stayed by his owner's side for the entire eight weeks after his disappearance.
