Some places on the planet have never received people

People have not explored some parts of the Earth yet. On deserted islands, in mountains and caves, nature is still the master.

Daredevils tried to be pioneers, but most of the dangerous expeditions ended tragically. OBOZREVATEL tells you about the places on the planet where no human has set foot.

  • Namuli Mountains, Mozambique
No one has ever climbed Mount Namuli.

In northern Mozambique, there are plains of the East African Plateau that have never been explored by humans. In 2014, professional climbers were able to conquer the top of the Namuli mountain range for the first time, but they only had to explore a separate part of the mountains. It took them a month to climb it. The cliffs are so steep that no one has been able to find out whether people or animals live on the slopes.

  • Hang Son Doon Cave, Vietnam
There's a cave in Vietnam that no one has explored in its entirety.

Vietnam attracts tourists with its mystery because there are many places that have not been explored yet. In particular, Hang Son Doong Cave, where there are many impassable nooks and crannies. No one has ever entered it before. It is located in Quang Binh province near the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park. The cave is considered to be the longest in the world, 9 kilometers long and 150 meters wide.

  • Yucatan Cenotes, Mexico

In Mexico, archaeologists have been diving into the system of three underwater caves of La Mina near the city of Akumal on the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. As a result, they discovered traces of ancient people who mined ochre in these mines 10-12 thousand years ago. There are still kilometers of unexplored channels underwater, and even the most professional divers do not dare to dive there because it is very dangerous.

  • Kerguelen Archipelago, France
It is very difficult to get to the Kerguelen Islands.

The Kerguelen archipelago is located in the Indian Ocean and consists of about three hundred islands and rocks. Most often, fishermen come here, and there is no permanent population on the islands. During World War II, this place was a base for German cruisers. However, there are still rocks and small islands where there have never been people.

  • Stone Forest, Madagascar
It is impossible to enter the Stone Forest.

The Stone Forest in Madagascar could serve as a location for a sci-fi movie if the film crew could get there. The rocks, which are about 70 meters high, are very sharp, so it's impossible to go inside. There are no green plants here. Stones have covered so much of the national park that not a single tree can sprout.

  • Northern Patagonia, Chile
In Northern Patagonia, no man has set foot

In Northern Patagonia, rainforests, glaciers, and hot springs intertwine. The incredible landscape of Chile attracts tourists, but no one has been able to explore the entire area until now. It is home to the largest number of glaciers outside the polar regions.

  • Gangkhar Puensum, between China and Bhutan
Gangkhar Puensum is considered the highest unclimbed peak in the world

Mount Gangkhar Puensum is considered the highest unclimbed peak in the world. The 7570-meter-high ridge is located on the territory between Bhutan and China. All attempts to climb the mountain ended tragically, so the Bhutanese authorities banned mountaineering.
