7 out of 10 are Ukrainians: the most expensive CIS footballers have been named

As of 2023, seven players of the Ukrainian national team were among the ten most expensive players in the world from the countries of the former USSR. At the same time, the midfielder of the Italian Napoli and the national team of Georgia, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, is estimated at the highest amount.

Such data was published by the popular Transfermarkt portal. According to experts and analysts, the market value of the Georgian winger is currently 80 million euros. The Ukrainian legionnaire of London's Arsenal, Oleksandr Zinchenko, is estimated at 42 million. Mykhailo Mudryk, the midfielder of the Blue and Yellows and Chelsea, rounded out the top three, with his transfer price currently equal to 40 million euros.

Spanish Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from the Georgian national team cost 30 million in European currency. Aleksandr Golovin, the midfielder of French club Monaco, is worth the same amount in Russian currency.

Only Ukrainians are in the second half of the ranking. Everton defender Vitalii Mykolenko and Girona forward Artem Dovbyk are worth 28 million euros each. English Bournemouth defender Ilia Zabarnyi, Benfica Lisbon goalkeeper Anatolii Trubin and Girona midfielder Viktor Tsyhankov are estimated at 25 million.
