The Ukrainian Oscar Committee has announced the end of the application process for films to be considered for the Oscars. Four films have been selected to compete for the chance to represent the country at the Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category.

According to the Ukrainian Film Academy, the finalists are House of the "'Slovo' House: Unfinished Novel,"  "La Palisiada," ''We Were Recruits," and "Peaceful People." The next step will be to check the films for compliance with the requirements. The meeting to determine the candidate is scheduled for September 9.

We would like to remind you that the Ukrainian documentary "20 Days in Mariupol" has won the coveted golden statuette at the Oscars 2024. The film by director and photojournalist Mstyslav Chernov became the third Ukrainian film to be nominated for the honorary award. According to experts, it was also the first to win it.
