Where to pour liquid laundry detergent: many people do it wrong

More and more people prefer liquid laundry detergents. They are easier to dose, more economical and environmentally friendly, completely dissolve in water and are rinsed better. But not everyone knows how to pour laundry detergent into the machine.

Directly into the drum

Most cleaning and home care professionals say that this is the best way to use liquid laundry detergents. This approach ensures that the detergent dissolves properly and is evenly distributed over all the items.

It's also a good life hack for those who can't remember how to use the detergent tray correctly. Their configuration can vary greatly, depending on the model of the machine, and some may be equipped with a special dispenser for liquids. If you are using an unfamiliar machine, just pour the required amount of detergent into the drum and don't worry about it.

Into the laundry detergent compartment

If you do decide to use the detergent tray, keep in mind that liquid detergent should not be poured into the first compartment you see. If you are using a program that does not have a prewash, you must put it in the same compartment as the detergent. This is usually the largest compartment in the tray or the cell marked with the number II. To be sure, it is better to check the instructions for a particular model of washing machine.

You can also put detergent in the cell marked with the number I, but only if you are using a two-step program. It is chosen as an alternative to soaking or for very dirty fabrics. You don't need to add gel to the fabric softener compartment at all as this will worsen the quality of cleaning and can damage the machine.
