What varieties of cucumbers are better not to plant: unsuccessful options

Cucumbers are an integral part of Ukrainian cuisine, as they can be used to make many dishes: salads, preserves, and simply eaten fresh. It is especially pleasant to eat vegetables grown in your own garden.

However, the harvest can sometimes be disappointing, and it's not because of improper care or growing conditions, but because of the wrong variety. The Good News publication told us what types of cucumbers should not be planted.

There are many varieties of cucumbers, and they all differ from each other in the taste of the fruit, its shape, size, or whimsy. Some have lower yields and are not suitable for commercial cultivation, some have higher yields, so the harvest may be too abundant for a small family. Therefore, it is impossible to say for sure which cucumber varieties are the best and which are the worst. Everything is very subjective.

Nevertheless, there are a number of varieties that are not to the liking of almost every summer resident.

Cucumber variety "Mavka"

Unfortunately, this variety is not very resistant to disease. Particular problems usually arise with a fungal disease called powdery mildew and fusarium.

Cucumber variety "Cuckoo"

This variety can attract summer residents because it has a high yield, but the result is often disappointing because it is not sufficiently resistant to disease. As a result, the quality of the fruit usually loses out compared to other types of cucumbers.

Cucumber variety "Divogray"

To get a bountiful harvest, you need to invest a lot of effort in the 'Divogray' variety, because it is prone to stress and needs careful and thorough maintenance.

Cucumber variety "Dove"

Although this variety is quite resistant to disease, it still won't please you with high yields and large, high-quality fruits.

However, always remember that the personal preferences of most summer residents should not change yours. Therefore, if your conditions are suitable for growing these varieties, you should not give them up.

Any variety can show its best in the hands of a professional and under the right circumstances.
