What to play for Christmas: an option that will delight adults and children alike

Remember how many times at Christmas parties you have experienced an awkward moment when the guests have already eaten dinner and you haven't figured out what to do next. If you're hosting guests this year, try organizing a simple but fun game for them that both adults and children will enjoy.

A video about this game was posted on social network X (formerly Twitter) by @Ann_Lilyflower. The game was based on the popular American game of birpong. According to its rules, the player has to hit a ping-pong ball, hitting it on the table, into a glass of beer. If he hits it, he gets a beer.

Preparation

To assemble the playing field, you need a tray with cells, such as for seedlings, opaque paper or plastic cups, and a ping-pong ball (or better yet, several for safety). The glasses can be the traditional red and green colors for Christmas, but this is not a requirement.

Count the glasses and number each one with a marker on the bottom. Write the corresponding number on a piece of paper and place it in the cells of the pallet. If the glasses are colored, then you can place numbered pieces of paper of the same color in the cells. The play space is ready.

Now you need to put a treat or a small gift in each glass and turn it upside down on the table. The surprise should remain inside. The main thing is that the guests do not see what is hidden and where. For fun, you can hide something really valuable in one of the glasses.

Gameplay

Each participant takes turns knocking the ball on the table so that it bounces off the surface and ends up in a cell with a number. If the ball is hit, the participant turns over a glass with the same number and takes the prize. It can be anything that fits under the glass - a few sweets, a small bill, a small toy, festive socks, a Christmas tree ornament, etc. As a special prize, you can use a large bill, a valuable certificate, or any other valuable item that will definitely appeal to any of the players.

The "knocked out" number is removed from the cell. After that, this field becomes unwinnable and hitting it does not bring a gift to the player. The game continues until players take all the prizes.
