It has long been advised not to hang paintings depicting storms, ruins, unknown signs, or hieroglyphics in your home. OBOZREVATEL analyzed which paintings, according to beliefs, should not be chosen for the corridor, living room, or bedroom.

Ancient ruins

Paintings featuring ruins, such as those of Ancient Rome, may look impressive. The pastel, white, and sky-blue shades of the buildings can complement any interior.

However, people say that hanging such images in the house is a sign of loss and "devastation" in life. Old, ruined, cracked buildings in the paintings do not carry any positive energy. According to the most fatal interpretation, they can bring poverty and need to a family.

Egyptian or Chinese hieroglyphics and unknown signs

Before you hang a picture with an inscription in your room, you should translate the writing and deal with unknown symbols.

Some characters and symbols may have a negative meaning.

Stagnant water or storm

Paintings by marine artists are very popular among interior designers. They will refresh even the darkest room.

But people were wary of such paintings. Everything here plays on associations. The image of stagnant water will bring stagnation to the family, and the storm, on the contrary, will provoke quarrels and conflicts in the family.

Pictures with negative emotions

Paintings depicting suffering, crying, poverty, illness, and physical disabilities are not good choices for your home. They will definitely not add to a positive mood.

A similar interpretation applies to paintings where people are in a state of anger, rage, aggression, and wrath.

It's better to choose artwork with a neutral or positive theme, avoiding images of faded leaves, fallen flowers, broken branches, or dry trees, as these elements can carry the energy of aging and death.
