What flowers to give to friends and family for Christmas: three bright options
Most people start preparing gifts for Christmas in advance so that they don't have to rush to the stores. Indoor flowers are one of the best options to decorate the house during the cold season.
OBOZ.UA has compiled a list of flowers that can be presented for Christmas. Bright blooms will delight you throughout the winter.
Christmas cactus
This flowerpot also has other names: Decembrist and Schlumberger's flower (in honor of the famous French cactus collector). It is a small plant with pink or red flowers that begin to bloom from late November to late January, making it an ideal plant for Christmas.
You can place the flowerpot in the bathroom or kitchen as it loves humidity very much. Avoid direct sunlight and spray with water regularly.

Poinsettia
This is a real festive plant that has bright red flowers and beautiful leaves of deep green color. The poinsettia begins to bloom in December when there is less daylight.
Place the flowerpot away from cold windows and drafts because the plant is used to hot, humid climates. Avoid direct sunlight and water the flower regularly.

Amaryllis
The plant is also often called hippeastrum. Thanks to its bright pink or red blooms, it is the best flower for Christmas. Amaryllis begins to bloom from late December to late June. For the plant to bloom for the holiday, you need to plant it in October, but if you plant the flowerpot now, it will bloom in early spring.
Find a warm place in the house but without direct sunlight. Water regularly and fertilize the plant with a high-potassium fertilizer once a week after the first buds appear.
Stop fertilizing and watering when the leaves begin to wilt and turn yellow. Then leave the bulb in the container in this state of rest. Place it in a cool, dry place until fall.
