However, finally, there is a rating of the most popular tourist cities in the world, made not on the basis of the number of tourists, but on the basis of publications in social networks, according to the material Timeout.
When compiling the rankings, travel company Titan Travel looked at the number of TikTok views and Instagram posts, as well as the amount of change in Google search traffic over the past three years.

At the same time, critics of Titan Travel's counting system point out that this method of counting is not reliable in measuring the popularity of tourist cities. Moreover, representations of destinations on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok are often not accurate or realistic.
At the same time, however, the ranking provides an interesting insight into which destinations people are looking at most closely on social media.
Expectedly, the leader of the ranking is London. The city proved to be extremely popular on social media, with over 70 billion views on TikTok and over 107 million Instagram posts.
Paris came in second place in the study, amassing more than 60 billion views on TikTok and 137 million tags on Instagram.
But in third place was Barcelona, where the number of searches on Google has increased by 336 percent over the past three years.
