Ukrainian pilots can spend less than 6 months on F-16 training

Yuriy Ihnat, spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force Command, said that Ukrainian pilots will need much less time to master the F-16 fighter jets. Due to the fact that our military has extensive experience, they will be able to learn to fly such modern multi-purpose aircraft even in less than the six months previously mentioned.

This was reported by Media Centre Ukraine. According to Ihnat, these are the results of the testing of Ukrainian pilots that took place in the United States of America.

During the course, American instructors assessed the capabilities and training level of our soldiers. They saw that Ukrainians, thanks to their experience, could master the equipment much faster. And it's not just about flying aircraft, but also about using the types of weapons that will be available to them.

"The Chief of Aviation of the Air Force noted that the first test estimates suggest that it will take less time than previously stated. Earlier it was announced that it would take six months," says Ihnat.

Recall that two Ukrainian pilots have successfully passed flight simulator tests in the United States. The US highly praised the skills of Ukrainian pilots during the test.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL:

- Director of Defense Express Serhiy Zgurets noted that Ukrainian pilots can master modern American F-16 fighters, which Ukraine is asking for from its partners, in three to six months. This figure is several times less than previously estimated by the US and NATO.

- Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg supported the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine by NATO member states.

- The Air Force has called for Ukraine to be reinforced with F-16 multi-role aircraft, as the aggressor country Russia has a significant air superiority.
