Russian occupants continue to attack the positions of Ukraine's defenders on the Lyman and Kupyansk directions of the Ukrainian front. However, the enemy suffers heavy losses in personnel and military equipment.

This was reported by a representative of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhiy Cherevaty, during a national telethon. According to him, over the past 24 hours, on April 5, the enemy army of the Russian Federation fired at the positions of the Ukrainian Defence Forces 399 times (to watch the video, scroll to the bottom of the page).

However, as Cherevaty noted, the enemy did not succeed and suffered losses. Five combat engagements took place on this section of the frontline during the day, and as a result, the occupiers lost 28 of their soldiers forever.

In addition, 62 Russian invaders became the "three hundredth". The Ukrainian military also destroyed a K-52 helicopter of the Russian army, a Tulip self-propelled mortar, a T-72 tank and an airborne combat vehicle.

According to the speaker, the K-52 was shot down by the Ukrainian defenders with a Polish-made Perun man-portable air defence missile system, and the helicopter crew was killed.

On the morning of April 6, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Russian troops continue to focus on conducting offensives in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Maryinka directions. The day before, the Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled more than 60 enemy attacks.

According to the General Staff, in the Lyman sector, the occupants tried to advance in the areas of Nevske and Serebryanske forestry. They used artillery to hit many localities, including Bilohorivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Zarichne, Spirne and Rozdolivka.

In the Kupyansk sector, Topoly, Figolivka, Dvorichna, Masiutivka, Kupyansk, Kucherivka, Krokhmalne, Berestove and others came under hostile fire.

As OBOZREVATEL reported, the day before, Cherevaty said that 64 occupants were "denazified" in the Kupyansk-Lyman sector in the area of Hryanykivka and Kreminna, 119 more were wounded and two were captured. In total, there were 427 shelling incidents and two firefights.
