Ukraine won national costume contest

For the first time in history, Ukraine won the Best National Costume nomination at the Miss Universe beauty pageant. Victoria Apanasenko, a model from Chernihiv, was voted for by viewers from all over the world, not by a professional jury.

The Warrior of Light costume she wore on the international stage won over the show's fans. The Ukrainian contestant herself shared this on her Instagram page (scroll to the bottom of the page to see the photo).

The landmark victory brought Victoria Apanasenko to tears. She said that the "Warrior of Light" is not just an outfit, but her heart and soul.

The patriotic costume was created for Victoria by the famous Ukrainian designer Lesya Patoka, who has previously designed concert outfits for Onuka, Jamala, Boombox, Pianoboy, Sergey Babkin, Olya Polyakova and others.

It consists of a luxurious white dress, a sword and mechanical wings that opened during the Ukrainian contestant's catwalk show. Her appearance on the catwalk then won the hearts of netizens.

The "Warrior of Light" represented the struggle of Ukrainians against darkness. It was based on the image of the warrior Archangel Michael holding a weapon. The costume was complemented by a headdress with a traditional Ukrainian golden spike.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL wrote that Victoria Apanasenko appeared before the public in an unexpected way. The blonde showed herself with a new hairstyle.
