The family of Toyota Corolla models will be replenished with a new cheap option. The first details about the prospective development have appeared. The car will be turned into a very practical car for the most economical buyers.

This is reported by Motor1. It shows renders from Kleber Silva, which hint at the possible design of the car. These are the works of a third-party artist and they have nothing to do with the automaker. The design of the model has not yet been approved.

It is known that the novelty of a pickup body is planned to be built based on an inexpensive Toyota Corolla Cross crossover. Thus, the car will not get a frame construction as large pickup trucks have.

This is reminiscent of the similarly sized Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz "passenger" pickups that the new Toyota Corolla will have to compete with. They are also based on compact crossovers: Kuga and Tucson, respectively.

Production may be established in the United States. It is expected that the promising model will enter the market no earlier than 2027.
