Aloe requires even less care in winter than in the warm season

Winter is a time when you can take a break from caring for plants not only in the outdoor garden. Many indoor flowerpots also go into a period of rest, and the effort to care for them can be significantly reduced, experts say.

OBOZ.UA asked them for their advice on which plants require less care during the winter season. We compiled a list of such plants and gave recommendations for winter care.

Spathiphyllum

This plant pleases with flowers all year round, but it is very sensitive to watering. Fortunately, it can signal when it is time to moisten it on its own. When the ground dries out too much, the leaves of the spathiphyllum drop and it looks a bit wilted. As soon as you notice that your flower is "sad", give it some water and it will come to life again. And don't worry that it will be dark: the plant tolerates winter darkness well.

Chlorophytum

This flower looks very delicate, but in fact, it is very hardy and resistant to the conditions of its keeping. If you provide the chlorophytum with well-drained soil and place it on a windowsill where the pot receives the maximum possible light, it will do just fine. Water the chlorophytum when you feel the soil beneath it is dry to the touch.

Chinese money tree

This money tree belongs to the succulents: plants that tolerate a lack of water. Moreover, they can get sick from excessive moisture. Therefore, moisten the soil in the pot about once a week and do not try too hard to fill it to the bottom. The beauty will do well with modest watering.

Aloe vera

Another succulent that is recommended by indoor gardening experts. Aloe vera needs very little water to survive and even thrive. If you skip watering, the plant won't even notice. The ideal watering regimen for it is to add moisture when the soil in the pot is 3-4 centimeters dry.

Epipremnum

Epiprenum feels great in low light and very modest watering. At the same time, it can quickly form beautiful cascading foliage compositions because it grows very intensively. In winter, epipremnum needs a reduced amount of moisture as overwatering can harm it. Reduce watering by half and the plant will overwinter perfectly.
