An explosion occurred in Kurgan (RF) on September 13 during welding works in the workshop of "Kurganmashzavod". Two employees of the enterprise were injured, they received burns.
Russian mass media reported that the emergency happened in a workshop where fuel tanks for IFVs are assembled. It is claimed that the cause of the explosion may have been a breach of safety regulations. They say that kerosene vapors burst into flames.
The victims - 25-year-old assembler Vladimir P. and 38-year-old welder Alexei K. - were taken to a local hospital with various burns.
The Russian media reported that a fire broke out, which "was extinguished in a short period of time by the shop workers".
PJSC "Kurganmashzavod" is the only plant in Russia that specializes in the production of infantry fighting vehicles and vehicles based on them. Since 2019, it is part of JSC NPO High-Precision Complexes, a state corporation of the aggressor country Rostec.
