The truth has won: STB pulled the scandalous version of "Yuryk" about the blockade of Mariupol from the show

The Yuryk movie about the siege of Mariupol was removed from the air after the loud scandal. STB TV channel thanked the residents of the long-suffering city for criticizing the inconsistency with the historical truth and shared what will be done with the tape in the future.
Yuryk will not disappear completely. The movie will be changed. Such information appeared on the official Instagram account of the TV channel (to see the photo, scroll to the end of the page).
"STB instructed the company producer of the movie OSNOVAFILM production to make significant changes and develop a new version of the movie. In particular, to exclude any mention of Mariupol as a place where the events unfold and not to use the names of other Ukrainian cities that were or are temporarily under Russian occupation," the statement reads.
According to the TV channel's spokesmen, the tape should include a "documentary postscript" that would reflect real facts about the scale of Russian crimes and civilian casualties, but not contain manifestations of other organizations in terms of covering the evacuation process.
As for Mariupol, STB has a documentary project in development, Mariupol. Unspent Hope will be shown on the day of the hero-city.
The creators of the scandalous movie explained why they decided to remake it and not just delete it forever.
"Yuryk is one of the first accounts of the life of our children in the conditions of the Russian full-scale invasion reproduced in fiction. An 11-year-old boy child who was forced to become an adult as a result is the protagonist. It is the story of the people who help him find salvation. They all do the hardest thing you can do during a war, which is to stay human. Everyone should know and remember about our little 'yuryks' from different Ukrainian cities, who survived the Russian occupation or are still temporarily in it," the STB team believes.
The creators of the picture said that they had learned an important lesson and announced a new "enhanced system of content verification" concerning the events of a full-scale war.
