The Simpsons mocked Putin "destroying history for protection" and his long table
In the 16th episode of the 34th season of the animated series "The Simpsons" mocked the head of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, his dictatorial policies and the long table for negotiations. The scriptwriters of the comedy created an allusion to the tyrant, which was easily recognized by viewers from Ukraine.
The plot of the episode revolves around one of the key characters, Kirk Van Houten: he did not like the history that was taught at school. You can read the comments to the episode on the Simpson UA website (to see photos and videos, scroll to the end of the page).
Van Houten seized power in the city and burned all the books to distort history as he saw it. The dictator's slogan was the phrase "Clean up history for your protection".
In one of the fragments, Marge Simpson decided to talk sense into the tyrant, but in the office caught him at the long table, which has long been a meme on the network and is associated with Putin's official meetings.
It should be noted that the episode ended in a disaster in which dictator Van Houten was probably killed or trapped under the rubble of the pavilion where the propaganda event took place.
Ukrainians were quick to understand the events that inspired the writers of the script for the new episode.
"A classy episode. Very well played the marasmus of h*ilo, especially with the table", "This long table looks so familiar", "The whole series is really about Putin and the twisting of history, and the table is just an obvious reference", "The banter over Putin's table is also funny", - wrote Ukrainians.
