The Security Service of Ukraine exposed two more Russian spies. The perpetrators wanted to place their agent in a defense plant in Kiev to collect and transmit intelligence to the Russian Federation.

This was reported in the press service of the SSU. The suspects face up to 15 years in prison.

"The Security Service identified two more Russian officials who were involved in intelligence-subversive activities against Ukraine. One of them is Colonel Dmitry Guliy of the Main Directorate for International Military Cooperation of the Russian Ministry of Defense. Another Russian spy is the deputy director of the legal department of the Ministry of Economic Development of the aggressor country, Vitaly Tekhtelev," the press service said.

At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the attackers remotely recruited a Kyiv resident, who was soon given an assignment. The Kyiv resident was to get a job at one of the defense companies in the metropolitan region in order to further collect and transmit intelligence to the Russian Federation.

"In this way the Russian officials tried to obtain secret information about the available Ukrainian weapons, which are supplied to the Defense Forces at the front. In addition, they were interested in data on the consequences of Russian missile strikes on Kyiv's critical infrastructure. In February 2023, the Security Service detained an enemy agent and informed him of the suspicion of high treason. During the investigation, employees of the Ukrainian special service "cracked" the detainee - he provided personal data of his handlers from the Russian Federation," the SSU specified.

According to the investigation, the traitor communicated with Russian officials via messenger. They promised their agent loyal treatment from the occupiers in the event of a takeover of Kyiv. The Russians were informed of the suspicion of espionage. They face sentences of 10 to 15 years in prison with or without confiscation of property.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the Security Service of Ukraine in Cherkasy region exposed and detained an agent of the Russian General Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. He turned out to be a former Ukrainian serviceman resident of Kherson.
