The ghost of a "black-eyed girl" was seen in Britain: legends have long been circulating about her

On the eve of Halloween, scary urban legends and stories about various mystical events are once again becoming relevant. For example, in the UK, people are once again talking about the appearance of a ghostly "black-eyed girl" that residents have seen for decades.

According to The Sun, a scary figure is periodically seen in the area of Cannock Chase, Staffordshire. Its first appearance was recorded in the 1980s. Locals claim that it is the ghost of a young girl who was murdered in the area in the 1960s. Although some suggest that it could even be an alien being or demon.

This is how she was last seen in 2021 by 17-year-old teenagers near the town of Birches Valley. Kylie and Ben (their names have been changed for security reasons), hadn't been able to see each other for a long time due to the pandemic, so they decided to secretly pitch a tent in the middle of the forest. But then they told their story to writer Lee Brickley, who collects and investigates such stories. He recently published a new book, "A Visit to Cannock Chase: True Ghost Stories from Britain's Most Haunted Place".

According to the teens, around midnight they heard something moving near their tent. At first, they thought it was a deer and decided to sit quietly so as not to scare the animal. But when it became clear that they were hearing what sounded like human footsteps, Kylie and Ben unzipped their tent to see what was going on.

At that moment, they heard a small child laughing, so they immediately turned on their flashlights to see where the sound was coming from. Ben was the first to notice who was laughing. The creature was running from tree to tree, hiding behind the trunks, and occasionally peeking out in the direction of the couple before finally coming out into the clearing in front of them.

Kylie described the encounter as follows: "I was terrified. I'd read stories on the news about the black-eyed girl, but it wasn't until this thing was right in front of me that I could totally believe it." According to the girl, the creature moved in a way that humans cannot, and its movements were more like teleportation.

Ben added: "I was shining the flashlight directly at it, and it just stood there looking at us with its head slightly down. That's when the giggling started getting louder and louder. It seemed to be coming from all directions, even though I could see that she was right in front of us." The boy added that he lost his bearings for a few seconds, and then the teens saw the creature bend down for a moment as if it needed to fix its shoes, and then get up and run in the direction of the dense trees.

After the mystical encounter, the teens decided to hide in their tent and stay there until sunrise. They went outside at 7 a.m. and found piles of stones evenly spaced around the tent, as well as strange structures made of sticks resembling dreamcatchers hanging from the trees.

Scientists did not comment on the mysterious meeting. There is also no reliable evidence that the creature was seen not only by teenagers who spent the night alone in the forest.
