In Russia, at the plant in Sergiev Posad, today, August 9, there was a powerful explosion. At first, Russian media claimed that the explosion was caused by a drone attack, but then local authorities said that the explosion was the result of a "violation of the technological process" and "human error".

This plant is engaged in the creation of optical and optoelectronic devices intended for implementation in the power structures of the Russian Federation, industry and health care systems.
At the same time, Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said that the plant, where the explosion occurred, allegedly had nothing to do with optics and that pyrotechnics had been produced there for a long time.

It is known that at least 52 people were injured as a result of the explosion. Glass was blown out in the surrounding houses, and some apartments even had interior partitions torn down. According to eyewitness reports, the ceilings crumbled in offices nearby. A nearby kindergarten was also evacuated.
