Shooting of a Ukrainian defender for saying "Glory to Ukraine" is not the only one: there is evidence of other executions of unarmed Ukrainian soldiers
Apart from the execution of Oleksandr Matsiyevsky, which was carried out by the Russian occupiers after saying "Glory to Ukraine!", the state has evidence of similar executions of our other unarmed prisoners of war. The Russians are doing it openly and cynically - with the consent of their commanders and with the certainty that they can escape punishment.
This was reported by the Ukrainian parliamentary commissioner for human rights, Dmytro Lubinets, citing sources in the security services. He stressed that the military of the aggressor state systematically commits war crimes by violating the laws and customs of war.
"Once again we are convinced that the Geneva conventions and norms of international humanitarian law do not exist for Russia," the ombudsman said.
As a reminder: On March 6, a video was posted online showing the moment of the shooting of a soldier of the Defence Forces who was captured by the occupiers. The Hero was unarmed. Russian war criminals killed him after he said: "Glory to Ukraine!"
Later, the Security Service of Ukraine found that our defender, who was shot dead unarmed by the occupiers, was Oleksandr Ihorovych Matsievskyi, a sniper from the 163rd Battalion of the 119th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade in the Chernihiv Oblast.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL:
- Ukrainian soldier Oleksandr Matsiyevskyi, shot by the Russian occupiers after saying "Glory to Ukraine!", in the last conversation with his mother he promised that he would never be captured. Saying goodbye, the Hero thanked her for giving birth to him;
- Earlier, Lubinets explained why the return of civilian hostages from Russian captivity is progressing so slowly. The aggressor country, Russia, is slowing down this process in every possible way. Our government is doing everything to free Ukrainian citizens.
