SBU serves notice of suspicion to Russian State Duma deputy who promoted himself during shelling of the Luhansk region
Ukraine has served a notice of suspicion to Viktor Vodolatsky, a member of the State Duma of the aggressor country from Putin's United Russia party. The Russian deputy illegally crossed the border and ended up in the Luhansk region of Ukraine, temporarily occupied by Russia, where he was promoting himself for propaganda cameras and "commanding" the occupiers during the shelling of Ukrainian defenders' positions.
This was reported by the press centre of the Security Service of Ukraine on Telegram on Friday, April 14. As noted, measures are currently being taken to bring Vodolatsky to justice for crimes against the Ukrainian state.
According to law enforcement officials, the Russian MP is fulfilling the Kremlin's task of spreading the occupation regime in the Luhansk region, which is currently temporarily occupied by Russians.
The SBU reported that after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Vodolatsky came to the Luhansk region, where he "inspected" the activities of the occupiers. He visited Stanytsia Luhanska, Popasna, Shchastia and Luhansk and distributed United Russia party tickets to local collaborators. He also called on the so-called deputies of the illegally created LPR group to decide to adopt the legislation of the aggressor country, Russia.
In addition, Vodolatsky was at the positions of the Russian occupiers in the Luhansk region. There, he appeared in a propaganda video in which he gives the command to load a cannon and fire at the positions of the Ukrainian military.
According to the SBU, Moscow appointed this MP as a curator of "United Russia humanitarian centres" in the cities of Luhansk region temporarily occupied by Russians.
Thus, Vodolatsky was served a notice of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Part 2 of Art. 110 (committing intentional actions to change the boundaries of the territory and state border of Ukraine in violation of the procedure established by the Constitution of Ukraine, by prior conspiracy by a group of persons);
- part 3 of Article 436-2 (justification, recognition of the lawfulness of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and the temporary occupation of its territory, glorification of the persons who carried out the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine using the media).
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the SBU detained a Russian agent in the Sumy region. The local traitor was collecting information about weaknesses on the state border with Russia.
